Mission
SHIFT Community Cycles mission is to "empower cyclists and the underserved communities of Lane County. Our programs provide access, education and outreach to build a stronger cycling community and sustainable future."
Programs
2 programs
Education: Shift educates the public about many bicycle-related topics, including: bike safety, basic bike mechanics, route planning, and the refurbishment process. A major piece of our work educates the community about shifting modes of transportation for a return on health and wealth, and sustainably keeping bikes out of landfills. We host summer camps, weekly workshops, and multiple monthly events to educate people about how to use, maintain, and love their bikes.
Outreach: Shift contracts with local agencies to offer free repairs in the community. In addition, we have mobile offerings for community outreach, including: bike lock demos, bike washes, and upcycling bike art workshops. We partner with multiple community service providers to connect clients in need with affordable and accessible transportation solutions.
