Heroes & helpers holiday shopping spree - benefits 200 students from the four title 1 elementary schools shop with a cop partners with in addition to children who have suffered a traumatic loss of a parent through some form of violence.

Expenses: $67K

Operation backpack - benefits over 700 students from the four partner elementary schools with new backpacks filled with necessary school supplies for the start of the new school year.

Expenses: $8K

Community reading buddies - students who are reading below grade level are identified by school's principal to participate in a one-on-one 8 week reading program, twice a week for 1 hour sessions. Students are paired with a reading mentor who guides them through a leveled reading program called booknook. Approximateley 20 children benefit from this extra resource help.
