The corporation has acquired problem properties which have been resold to owner occupants for rehab under financing arrangements with debt forgiveness for owner occupancy. The corporation has encouraged new owner acquisition & occupancy of rehabbed shingle family homes by offering small purchase grants/loans that require a minimum of years of owner occupancy for debt forgiveness. Sdchc also makes investments in our community through grants & partnerships for economic growth and community improvement.

The corporation in cooperation with other community organizations and entities has acquired distressed properties to be rehabbed and sold to new owner occupants or ownership entities, in order to renew these properties, assist in the stabilization of the surrounding block(s) and serve as an example of how to successfully turn distressed properties around.
