Soar For Youth

Foster Youth On-Going Support (including Staying Connected Events, School-year Academic Support, SOARing Forward Program): Cumulatively, 98% of our youths graduated from high school and 87% have gone on to college in comparison to the national average of 50% and 10% respectively. 45% of SOAR college students went to a four-year university, including UC's Berkeley, LA, Merced, and Santa Cruz campuses as well as several CSU campuses. 68% of SOAR students who should have graduated from 4-year colleges have graduated, in comparison to the national average of 3-4% of foster youth attending all colleges.One hundred twenty eight (128) foster youths attended the program in 2024.

Summer Internship Program: 16 SOAR high achievers worked as summer interns for 6-8 weeks in various Bay Area locations. The employers, selected to honor these youths' passion and career goals, included: Andersen, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, West Oakland Clinic Twenty five (25) foster youths attended the program in 2024.
