Spay and neuter assistance: the spca is committed to decreasing the overpopulation of cats in hancock county by offering prevent-a-litter certificates to low income individuals. We work in partnership with the state of maine as well as local veterinary offices to offset the cost of spaying and neutering cats. In addition to this, the spca now offers annual low cost/no cost spay/neuter clinics to the community. Before any animal is adopted from the spca, we ensure that it has been spayed or neutered.

Expenses: $31K

The spca provides a variety of programs to hancock county and surrounding communities to increase animal welfare and decrease animal displacement due to financial hardship. These spca programs include the pet food pantry (supplies low income individuals with pet food and pet supplies at no cost to them), mickey duffy fund (provides financial assistance with emergency veterinary expenses), and the jubilee fund (increases access to humane end of life care).
