Foundation was incorporated in the commonwealth of pennsylvania with a charitable purpose of promoting and preserving the historic character of the society hill area of philadelphia and its surrounding neighborhoods and to promote public and private safety, the beautification of the washington square park and other improvments in that vicinity.
