Mission
Our mission is to enhance and promote the knowledge and expertise of government meeting professionals. Our objectives are to improve the quality of, and promote the cost-effectiveness of, government meetings.
Programs

Membership services: to improve the quality and promote the cost-effectiveness of government meetings and conferences, as well as provide members education and resources to improve their government meetings and advance their careers.
Website and publications: the society administers several printed and online publications, which include the society website, online suppliers guide, government connections magazine, and the sgmp link weekly digital newsletter. In the year ended june 30, 2020, the society published two issues of the government connections magazine.
Educational meeting: the society hosts educational events and webinars for members, which include the certified government meeting professional (cgmp) course and exam.
Leadership meetings: the society hosts in-person and digital meetings for the national and chapter leaders such as the joint leadership session. The national board of directors serve as developers and managers of these meeting, as well as knowledgeable resource for these meetings.
