Society of medicolegal death investigators (somdi) provides scientific forensic death investigation training and educational opportunities to medicolegal death investigators, being those individuals who investigate violent, suspicious, sudden and/or unexpected deaths to assist in the determination of a decendent's cause and manner of death and who are employed by medicolegal jurisdictions and/or individuals who are currently certified and are in good standing with the american board of medicolegal death investigators.
