LIFELINE - Our LIFELINE crisis response program places peer recovery specialists in the hospital emergency rooms within 60 minutes of receiving a call for anyone that has experienced or is at risk of an overdose, and alcohol. We provide this service Mon. thru Sat. 7:00 am to 10:00 pm at no cost to the individuals or hospitals we serve (Northside Gwinnett Lawrenceville, Northside Gwinnett Duluth, Piedmont Hospital Eastside North and South campus, and Emory Johns Creek). Our goal is to connect people affected by addiction to recovery support resources and services as quickly as possible and to encourage them to stay connected. In 2024 we engaged with 491 individuals in the hospitals. We had 2,630 encounters through one-on-one coaching, family coaching, virtual meetings, phone calls, emails, and text messaging. LIFELINE is an important part of the continuum of care in our community, connecting people affected by addiction and their families to the resources necessary to maintain recovery and lead vital lives.
SAFE HARBOR - Recovery Support Center. In 2024, we made 18,641 connections to individuals affected, seeking, supporting, and experiencing recovery from addictive substances and alcohol. Connections included individual coaching, family support, and recovery training in the Science of Addiction, Language of Addiction, and Scope of Addiction. We distributed and trained multiple community stakeholders and civic groups on administering Naloxone, the opioid overdose reversal drug to individuals. Our annual 5K Run-Walk for Recovery has become the highlight event in September (National Recovery Month) since 2015, with 278 participants, volunteers, community partners, vendors, and people excited about recovery in attendance. Our partnerships include the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health, Gwinnett County Accountability Court(s) Family Treatment Court, Drug Court, Piedmont Hospital, Northside Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, GNR Health Department, Viewpoint Health, and the Department of Family and Children Services whom we serve with dignity and respect.
