Climate and Disaster ResilienceThrough the Solano Disaster Relief Fund, the Foundation awarded targeted grants to address environmental hazards and climate-related disaster preparedness, particularly the public health impact of wildfire smoke and poor air quality across Solano County. In 2024, a major grant supported Sustainable Solanos countywide initiative that engaged over 500 residents, with a focus on vulnerable and underserved populations, including seniors, low-income households, and communities of color. These efforts contributed to a growing countywide coalition for clean air, advanced local participation in regional climate action planning, and laid the groundwork for a future Solano Air Quality Summit. The grant served as a catalyst for longer-term partnerships and policy engagement on public health, disaster mitigation, and environmental justice.
Non-Profit Partnership Fund Program ExpansionThe Foundation launched a Building Community Muscle initiative leveraging our Non-Profit Partnership Fund. This initiative is intended to build cross-sector collaboration, engage community members in meaningful service, and support nonprofit organizations with peer learning, technical assistance, and access to public and private funding streams with the belief that a strong non-profit ecosystem is an essential part of a thriving community.
