Solas nua, new light in irish, is the only organization in the u.s. Devoted to bringing the best of contemporary irish arts to our metropolitan washington area audiences.

Capital irish film festival ciff - 4 day festival in march, 2024 at afi in silver spring. This years festival featured 37 irish titles, including 20 shorts and 17 feature-length films. This years festival magnified the work of irish women in film by presenting the work of 14 women directors and eighteen women screenwriters.
Theater presentation of distillation. Solas nua commissioned this work through its norman houston prize, and artist luke casserly developed this unique aroma based evocation of the waning boglands in ireland. Originally premiering in the dublin theatre festival, the north american premiere occurred with solas nua in washington dc and then toured the east coast across multiple venues.
Solas nua presented at studio theatre, a theater presentation of panti bliss, a drag icon of equal rights activism in ireland.
