?Through our CCR program, including weekly two-hour CCR meetings, Sand Point middle, high school, and young adult students receive guidance and resources to meet their immediate needs and work towards their academic and career goals through one-to-one mentorship and support. Students' academic and career goals inform the unique and individualized support they receive so they can succeed in their future. CCR program participants receive tutoring and mentorship that promotes success in academics, college applications and preparation, career exploration, and more. Additionally, with the program running throughout the duration of the Seattle Public Schools academic year, students have the opportunity to receive support and mentorship for long periods of time and develop positive relationships with staff, program volunteers, and their peers while leveraging in-school opportunities to supplement their learning.

The purpose of this grant is to support Poverty Action, a leading organization within the Washington Dental Access Campaign, to engage new community and legislative stakeholders with an expanded set of oral health policy goals, advocacy training opportunities, and data collection activities that promote equity and racial justice in and beyond the state of Washington.
2022
$125K
This proposal is for Poverty Action to implement a statewide, community-driven, legislative policy campaign to authorize dental therapy in tribal and non-tribal communities to address the growing gaps in access and oral health workforce disparities.
