The primary exempt purpose of Songs of Black Folk is to celebrate African American cultural arts by putting on world-class productions that feature both national and local Black artists. These performances give the Northwest community the chance to experience and appreciate the richness of African American culture through high-quality artistic expression. The event takes place annually during Juneteenth blending historical significance with contemporary art. By bringing together Black folk traditions and modern forms of creativity the organization offers a fresh and evolving way to celebrate African American culture. Ultimately Songs of Black Folk enriches the local cultural scene and fosters a deeper understanding of African American heritage through powerful memorable experiences.
