Sonoran desert conference center provides members of the community with a place to gather for group activities, including educational activities, historical events, public gatherings, community celebrations, and other activities of nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and individuals. The center also provides lodging to visitors of the ajo, arizona region and local residents.

The sonoran desert conference center operation supported workforce readiness, job training, and entrepreneur opportunities to the community of ajo and the surrounding region. These efforts included incubating food- based businesses in the community kitchen and offering market access for local makers and artists. This program invested approximately 40,000 in the local workforce and microbusiness community.
The sonoran arts residency provides lodging, workspace, and performance/gallery space for visiting artists. The organization expended 10,000 in direct and indirect support for artist residencies.
