Commemorative and fellowship: annual commemorations and celebrations of events including nathan hale day, evacuation day, the battles of lexington and concord, tallmadge day, george washington's birthday, flag day, constitution week, independence day and summer tavern night, which can include dinners, ceremonies, educational presentations, symposiums and parades. Annual presentations of awards including the knox trophy at west point and the distinguished patriot of the year at the society's george washington birthday ball. Active participation by the society's color guard at numerous society and public commemorative events, including memorial day and saratoga-yorktown commemorations and the lower manhattan historical association independence day parade.
