Accessible Arts Program: Since 2017 we have engaged with professional arts who identify as Deaf or disabled and that program has grown due to recent single year funding from the City of Seattle. We have an Accessibility Coordinator and offer programs for artists and audiences who experience barriers due to disability. This program includes ASL and English Captioned performances, Relaxed Sensory Friendly performance, Audio description and tactile tours for blind and low vision audiences, Spanish Captioned Performances, masked only performances and flexible front row seating for people with mobility devices. Over 50% of our staff, board and artists identify as disabled.

Expenses: $98K

Making Waves New and Experimental Works program: This program involves smaller, single or limited run performances and emphasizes new plays and experimental works and new play development. In 2024, we presented a reading The Dinner Note a play centering Black American Sign Language (BASL) by Deaf Black disabled playwright Rhonda Cochran and directed by Michelle Banks, Black Deaf woman director and founder of VOCA in Washington DC. We also presented workshops and readings for four plays by disabled playwrights. We did viewings of films, panel discussions and a presentation on the nature of BASL in the Pacific Northwest.
