South Broadway Art Project has a mission to teach young people and adults how to enhance their own lives and community through art as well as serving as a local and regional source of creative inspiration for neighbors visitors professional artists and students of all ages. We do this by offering affordable and free visual art education programs for young people and adults.

Teen Apprenticeship & Girls Leadership puts teens girls and young women of all identities genders and different backgrounds at the center of a more feminist way of learning how to enhance their own lives and community through art while also becoming apprentices leaders activists and future entrepreneurs. With the Whole Self approach participants overcome adversity perceive opportunity develop self-confidence make ethical decisions and healthy life choices thrive academically embrace leadership and have the ability to enter middle school high school college or the workforce as fully prepared and connected adults.
Kids pottery classes learn how to work with their hands as a way to become more visually literate which is an essential way for young people to better understand themselves and the world around them. Teaching young people how to enhance their own lives and community through all things clay ceramics and pottery is an integral part of learning about and making art at SBAP in St. Louis.Students will learn all about and experience clay from its most primitive forms and techniques to more modern methodologies and practice. Some clay classes focus more on wheel work while others focus more on hand-building skills and projects. Pottery for children have a broad theme that encourages imaginative experimentation and creative risk-taking.
