The Foundation Board of Directors approved $7,832 in scholarship programs to support education and training awards for deserving high school students and hospital team members. These awards are used to pursue college degrees in health-related fields, nursing degrees and to attend conferences to advance skill sets. Additionally, the Foundation continued to provide support to team members in need through the Team Member Emergency Assistance fund. In 2024, $4,208 in grants were made on behalf of team members in financial need.
In 2024, the Foundation Board of Directors continued to support the Wellness on Wheels program with a $10,000 grant. This program, which is funded by the Foundation's annual Children's Classic Golf Tournament, brings medical care to the community, serving communities that are most at risk and in need. Additionally, another $1,805 was used to purchase furniture and accessories for the Cancer Resource Center.
South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation offers a program titled Patient Experience Grant. It is a grant awarded to hospital departments that are applied for by hospital team members. They may apply for funding up to $5,000 for equipment, supplies or a program that will improve the patient experience in their area. This program has been in place since 2016. The funding is provided by the annual team member giving campaign, Together We Make A Difference! In 2024 the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department was awarded $4,637 for a Birthing Simulator. This program gives team members an opportunity to secure financial support for services for their patients. It's a great way to build relationships with the team and support their priorities with Foundation dollars.
