The south suburban humane society promotes the well being of animals through care, sheltering, educating the public, providing adoption placement services and low cost spay, neuter and vaccine services to the public for their pets.

Animal rescue, adoption, and placement services sshs took in 4,420 animals, placed 3,608 pets through adoption, transferred 121 out to rescue, and returned 426 lost pets to their owners for a total life saving percentage of 94%
Resale shop items and shelter/animal care merchandise just as pets are given a second chance, donors gently used items are given a second chance at our resale shop all to benefit homeless pets. Sshs also offers low cost crates, preventatives, leashes, collars, tags, etc. To help new pet parents get all they need for their new best friend.
