The mission of SESEC is to convene and resource communities of color to advocate for an equitable education system.

Coalition - SESEC hosts monthly coalition meetings where topics of community interest are presented and discussed and community recommendations are shared with the presenters. Topics include planned capital expenditures by Seattle Public Schools, disciplinary policies, educational equity and justice, histories of indiginous peoples. SESEC also hosts an annual conversation on race and equity.
Youth Participatory Grantmaking Project Seattle youth of color aged 15-21 who are interested in developing their leadership capacity, learning about philanthropy as a powerful tool for social justice, and meeting new people. This is a paid opportunity.
