Southern Area Behavioral Healthcare Services

Peer support services: services and activities provided between and among consumers who have common issues and needs, that are consumer- motivated, initiated, and managed and that allow consumer to live independently. Services are provided by a certified peer support specialist and are used to enhance consumer engagement by connecting with resources in the community, coaching self-advocation, and promoting independent living.
