An advocate in encouraging the existence and maintenance of a multi-ethnic neighborhood, provide leadership and coordination for the elimination of illegal discrimination against individuals seeking housing, provide fair housing monitoring, outreach and education, counselling, case ligation and mediation.

The Housing Rights Center has twenty four (24) other smaller pass-through contracts with other Southern California cities utilizing CDBG funds to provide similar fair housing services to community residents. The Organization has provided assistance to individuals and families from these cities with housing concerns involving potential discrimination issues, conducted investigations, provided mediations, outreach and education programs and other related activities to promote fair housing.

During its 2023-2024 fiscal year, the Housing Rights Center provided fair housing services to the City of Los Angeles as a sub-recipient of federal CDBG grant funds. This program assisted 7,580 individuals with housing concerns. 1,485 of which involved potential discrimination issues. HRC conducted factual investigations for 175 of these complaints to remedy possible legal disputes. HRC also provided the City's residents with a diverse outreach/education program consisting of presentations, media campaigns, trainings events and other related activities.
