Operation & maintenance of museum facility and equipment repair facilities. We received a donation of a vintage N&W Caboose which was developed as a static display by the loading yard in Clinton with access and explanations to the public. There was also a lot of cleaning up of the railroad right-of-way in the area, as well as in North Yard (in Tecumseh, MI). Repairs made to existing locomotives as well to maintain operational capacity. 5 pieces of Rolling stock that was stranded at the south end of the line was moved north (Emerald Vale was moved with a $10K grant from Emery Trust).
Maintenance and restoration of historic railroad line (dating from 1838). Work was done again this year by 20+ volunteers along 7 miles of historic railroad, maintaining the right of way up to local standards, keeping the rail line operable in accordance with FRA annual inspections. Complete replacement of the Bidwell crossing, as well as new crossings that was put in place at the request of a housing development.
Maintenance of organizational functions of a general nature (mailings for elections, meetings, occupational expenses, etc).
