The Southern Palmetto Foundation works to drive positive economic Impact foster regional talent and improve overall quality of life throughout the CSRA with a focus on Barnwell and Allendale Counties.

Coding Career Connect: Meeting on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of every month participants are mentored by Edward Wald a Barnwell native computer programmer with 20 years of experience in the field. Students are able to receive assistance while they work on learning code while participating in a fun code-based activity every meeting.
BBQ Blues & Boos: This program combines live music barbecue cook-offs and family-friendly fun to highlight the culture and spirit of the region. Proceeds from this program directly support free and low-cost programs for emerging entrepreneurs and small businesses in Barnwell and neighboring Allendale counties helping to strengthen local economic development and business growth.
0EmpowHER: The initiative specifically supports planning marketing financing and growth of women-led businesses while promoting broader economic independence and business success for women in the region.
Homegrown Leadership: 6-month leadership-development initiative designed to equip emerging and mid-level leaders in the region with practical skills strategies and a stronger sense of community-oriented leadership. Participants engage in monthly sessions that focus on visioning team building conflict management communication especially public speaking and authentic leadership. Upon completion graduates are celebrated at the Homegrown Leadership Summit and are better prepared to lead in their workplaces civic organizations and local government.
Farmers Market: Strengthens the local food economy by providing a direct-to-consumer marketplace that supports farmers producers artisans and the community. It aims to foster a more sustainable and equitable local food system enhance access to fresh locally grown foods promote wellness and encourage community-based entrepreneurship and land stewardship.
