Placemaking -swbid activates public spaces within the bid borders in order to promote community engagement and connectivity. During fy2023, swbid continued to support activations at the lot at 4th and m street sw program public parks like the southwest duck pond, lansburgh park, and hancock park. We maintain ongoing relationships with community leaders and elected officials to launch special events, public art programs and beautification efforts

Place branding - swbid place branding initiatives include gathering and publicizing data on the changing, diverse neighborhood, updating website content, formulating wayfinding signage,maintaining an active social media presence, and hosting community groups to maximize new public initiatives in the area.
