Through our adoption program we rescue and rehome dogs and cats from the Prince Georges County municipal animal shelter. These pets are at risk of euthanasia because they havent been adopted or because of illness or injury which may require significant expense for veterinary treatment and rehabilitation recovery. We have volunteers who foster these animals to provide care and socialization and to determine the best permanent home situation for adoption.

We hold monthlly low cost vaccinations for cats and dogs where we administer rabies and distemper vaccinations and implant microchips. We partner with local community organizations to provide low cost vaccinations at their events.

Through our cruelty neglect prevention program we run a 24 hour hotline for public reporting of cruelty abuse and neglect of any and all animals including wildlife livestock and domestic pets. We handle about 2400 cases a year following uo with interviews photographs onsite monitoring research and other investigation as needed. We collaborate with county animal control officers to resolve and escalate cases as necessary and we assist citizen complainants with the process allowing them to remain anonymoius if desired. Most of our cases involve local animals but we do get reports from out of the area and are sometimes asked to help with or consult on situations in other juristrictions.
