To train and inspire students of all ages in the performing arts while instilling the qualities of confidence, self-discipline, creativity and respect for others.

Programs

Classes/lessons/special events spindrift school of performing arts (sspa) offers private lessons and group classes in music, theatre, and dance at our facilities year-round. Private lessons are offered year-round with 170 students and 11 instructors in voice, piano, guitar, violin & cello. Dance, acting & musical theatre classes are offered on-site from august through june for ages 6 mo to 18. Dancers have a recital 2x a year and private music students also have recitals 2x a year. We also offer adult dance and improv classes in the evening.

Expenses: $241K

Residencies: after-school, in-school, and outreach programs after-school - spindrift teaches after-school classes at every elementary school in the pacifica school district as well as several other schools on the coast and peninsula. All of our afterschool classes participate in the recitals. In-school - spindrift partners with several schools in the pacifica school district as well as private and public schools bearby to provide performing arts training to children as directed by the groups that bring us in (dance, theatre, music & musical theatre). Outreach - spindrift provides two programs to the students of sunset ridge elementary of psd free of charge to the school's families. Two semester- long programs serve students in grades 1-3 or grades 4-5. The class meets once per week and culminates in a performance for families that includes costumes, lights, and sets. At ingrid b. Lacy middle school, we provide a 10-week afterschool hip hop class free of charge to the school's students. Our outreach programs are funded by contributed income and are offset by agreement with psd to utilize school sites for our summer camps free of charge to spindrift.
