Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation

Neighborhood grantsone-year grants that support direct programs happening at schools and nonprofit organizations aligned with the foundation's mission. In 2024, over $4m in grants were awarded to 585 organizations across four categories, including: growing healthy kids, wellness across the lifespan, sprouting school gardens, and local in-store check presentations.wellness across the lifespan grants - to provide adults and vulnerable populations with access to nutritious food and essential nutrition education. The foundation awarded $1,016,700 to 129 organizations growing healthy kids grants - help kids grow healthy and equip them with the tools they need to develop habits that last a lifetime. Support community-based programs focused on children's nutrition access, nutrition education, and health and wellness. The foundation awarded 163 grants totaling $1,240,358. Local in-store presentations - supporting hyperlocal organizations in our store communities that emphasize healthy lifestyles and behaviors. The foundation awarded 91 grants with $695,000.sprouting school gardens grants - bringing hands-on garden-based nutrition education to life by supporting school gardens and classroom cooking programs in 137 schools, totaling $1,212,129.

Disaster relief grants - one-time grants are awarded to organizations that support regions that were impacted by natural disasters.in 2024, 5 grants were awarded.

National school garden summit - provided funding for the secondnational gathering focused entirely on school gardens, the summitgathered 525 educators and leaders from across the country workingto sustain school garden programs at the school, regional and nationallevel. These educators, and the nonprofit organizations they represent,operate learning gardens at over 10,000 school campuses, providinghands-on nutrition, science and academic instruction to an estimated5 million students each year.

Healthy communities grants - two-year grant partnerships are designed to help scale or enhance specific programs, resulting in greater impact and reach.
