SURGERY - At HSHS St. Francis Hospital, our OR services inpatients and outpatients from throughout central Illinois, including Montgomery County and surrounding communities. A variety of surgeons perform procedures at our facility, from a multitude of specialties including General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Gynecological, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, and Interventional Pain Management Services. EMERGENCY SERVICES - HSHS St. Francis Hospital Emergency Department is a comprehensive treatment center. It is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by specially trained physicians, nurses, and technicians all of whom provide quality patient care for a wide range of concerns. We have access to a wide range of specialists either through advanced telemedicine or via higher levels of care within the health system to help diagnose and provide treatment for those seeking our care. With leading edge technology at our fingertips, we can process x-rays, CT scans and other diagnostic tests accurately and quickly, allowing faster diagnosis and treatment in a wide range of areas, including but not limited to: stroke, heart attack, shortness of breath, motor vehicle and other accidents, broken bones, abdominal pain, lacerations, and mental health issues. During FY24 the emergency department experienced over 10,876 patient visits with 5% admitted or placed in observation.
INFUSION / ONCOLOGY - HSHS St. Francis Hospital other specialized services includes wound care, obstetrics, outpatient IV therapy, medical/surgical care, and an intensive care unit. St. Francis provides hazardous medication administration to patients in Montgomery and surrounding counties through the infusion center located within the hospital. The nursing staff caring for patients in the center are specialty trained to handle and administer hazardous medications for patients requiring oncology care close to home. In fiscal year 2024, the medical oncology department, which includes the infusion center, assisted in the over 8,721 patient encounters for these services.
