St john rescue, inc. (stjr) is an all voumteer organization dedicated to saving lives, providing community education and building a better way of life for the people of st john. Stjr provides emergency rescue, medical support, education and shared resources to the people of st john.

Programs

2 programs

Stjr's community outreach program offers ashi cpr and first aid to all members of the community free of charge. This program also conducts courses for schools, churches and local businesses. Over 20 courses were during fiscal year ended 9/30/23. Stjr continues to train and certify members to high standards by offering a wide variety of programs, including public safety diving, ropes rescue, vehicle stabilization and extrication and serach and rescue. Stjr's responding members have been recertified at the emr level and several are being supported to increase their training to emt level.

Stjr has an 02 generator which is the only operational generator on the island. Stjr fills tanks upon request for no charge for local agencies, including but not limited to vi fire department, national park service, vi emergency services and local dive shops tht have 02 tanks on board for emergency situations.
