Housing program - svdp is fortunate enough to operate 14 apartment complexes with a total of 233 affordable housing units throughout the 5 northern counties of north idaho. Located in clark fork, plummer, tensed, post falls and coeur d'alene, svdp operates housing for low-income seniors, those low-income with mental illness, family housing, individual housing and 5 transitional housing complexes with 49 units. Svdp additionaly operates the warming shelter with capacity for 60 people.

Child and adult care food program: the usda child care food program provides reimbursement for nutritious meals and snacks served to children 12 years or younger including infants. Cacfp is available to licenced family daycare homes and centers.those that participate support positive eating habits by offering a variety of foods and introducing children to new foods.

Social service - having started in 1988 in a little corner of the coeur d'alene thrift store, svdp social services has grown to be the heart of our agency and the entry point for most of our self-sufficiency programs. Located in the h.e.l.p. Center, this office sees into the neediest corners of northern idaho, offering assistance regardless of a person's faith, culture, or background. Staff members extend aid to very low-income and homeless individuals and families through financial assistance, information, and referrals while offering individualized attention combined with understanding, compassion, and the knowledge that all people are worthy and deserving of kindness and love. While we specialize in serving the homeless and those at-risk of homelessness, we also serve the disabled, victims of domestic abuse, veterans in need, at-risk youth, and the elderly. We offer a wide array of housing and self-sufficiency services and programs with the belief that those who seek help need a hand up and not a hand out. With this a cornerstone principle, all of the services we offer are geared toward teaching self-reliance. The services and programs that fall within our social service branch are: emergency assistance, homeless prevention, emergency shelter, warming center, case management, veterans counseling and service, payee services, career counseling, housing first, icare - parent information resource center and home outreach.the warming shelter is available for friends and neighbors in our community who have fallen on hard times. When the temperature dips below 28 degrees, it is open for anyone who does not have protection from the cold, wind, and snow. The warming shelter can accomodate 60 people.

Angel arms transitional housing - we have four grant programs that help chronically homeless get housing and learn how to stay permanently housed. One is for singles, one for families and the third and fourth grants are for singles and families. These programs offer parenting classes, financial/budgeting classes, job seeking and job counseling classes and intense case management. The goal is to have each participant become self-sufficient.

Trinity group homes - this is a program that started in november 2015. It provides transitional housing for the mentally ill and underprivileged who are able to live in group homes. There are five different housing facilities for this program.

Veterans assistance - st. Vincent de paul's veterans services program aids veterans and their families in their time of need, as well as helps with any concerns regarding educational benefits and entitlements. Veterans can receive the save services that our non-veteran homeless and low-income clients receive, such as emergency assistance, food, shelter, and housing. However, we will aslo provide assistance with other va related items. A case manager copies veteran related documents, provides administrative help with va communication, assists an unemployed veteran with a job search, and maintains a file of their important documents. Transportation to the va medical center in spokane for medical treatment is also available.
