Mission

Stagebridge is the nation's oldest, most renowned theater of, by, and for older adults. Its mission is to transform attitudes towards aging through creative aging programs that offer older adults performing arts opportunities for training and outreach to audiences of all ages.

Programs

2 programs

Seniors Reaching Out brings musical and comedic entertainment, performed by Stagebridge's senior touring ensemble, to elders at community venues. In addition, in June of 2024, Stagebridge staged 2 productions created, and acted in, by Stagebridge students. The two shows were Eleanor's Revenge and Shady Manor, both presented at Oakland's Plymouth Jazz and Justice Church.

Expenses: $13K

Stagebridge staged a production of Moises Kaufman's play The Laramie Project at Berkeley's Hillside Club in January 2024. The cast was all Stagebridge actors, aged 63 -87. The show was very popular, selling out opening night, and received appreciative reviews.
