All steadytown efforts serve charitable, educational, and/or scientific purposes.in 2016, steadytown founded the "street to home movement", a collective impact project to address long-term street homelessness in the melbourne, fl area. Steadytown coordinates the effort, and the south brevard sharing center, a community non-profit and 501(c)(3) organization, serves as the direct service provider. Project stakeholders include the city of melbourne, melbourne police department, brevard county housing authority, health first, melbourne area businesses, and philanthropists. The project employs a team of professionals that link individuals and families living outdoors with the investment they need to exit homelessness permanently.
