Mission
The Stone County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes more specifically to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the society; to seek to return lost animals to their owners; to seek suitable homes for animals without owners; to discourage cruelty to animals of all types; to influence public opinion with respect to care treatment and welfare of animals; to educate the public in all animal welfare areas; to promote spay neuter programs as a method of animal population control. Our most significant activities include caring for and finding homes for unwanted and stray cats and dogs. We also provide discount spayneuter vouchers to the public.

Finding them homes through adoption or transporting them to areas of the country with a higher adoption rate. During 2024 the Stone County SPCA adopted 139 animals transported 247 animals.
Providing discount spay and neuter vouchers for community cats and dogs The number of community cats and dogs spayed and neutered through our program in 2024 was 213.
