Stonewall Youth

Youth gain skills through staff positions Fellowships and other opportunities. They participate in leadership trainings. They develop and implement programs trainings workshops and other events at Stonewall youth schools and other community venues. They are active in and have decision-making power in all areas of work in the organization including program development and implementation facility operations and management and organizational development. They do outreach and education at community events. About 20 youth were in leadership positions and their work benefitted at least 300 youth and other community members.

We host sober social and community-building events for youth such as dances movie nights and workshops. We host events such as potlucks and workshops for all ages.

Eligible low-income youth can request Emergency Funds or for Stonewall Youth to purchase essential items for them such as food clothes housing supplies school supplies art supplies and gender-affirming items. We also provide items to youth who are homeless or are transitioning from homelessness to being housed food sleeping bags tents cell phones furniture kitchen supplies and more.

Staff provide support to youth including referrals to local resources assistance in obtaining their goals and more. We educate ourselves and community about issues of important to LGBTQ+ people
