Active restoration program transforms degraded oak woodlands into thriving ecosystems through scientific precision and community partnership. On our 40-acre living laboratory, we achieve extraordinary results: 400% higher seedling survival rates, 300% new understory development, 200% more wildlife activity including bobcats, pumas, and diverse bird species breeding and hunting on the restored land, and 300% more hydration centers for animals, birds, monarchs and other pollinators, birds, etc.beginning with comprehensive ecological assessment, blm scientist ryan o'dell documented over 100 native plant species in our soil's seedbank. We mobilize partnerships with fresno state university, community volunteers, and organizations like burnbot and calfire. Using prescribed fire and targeted removal, we systematically eliminate invasive species beneath blue oak canopies, creating foundations for native regeneration and strategic plantings.this proven methodology demonstrates how strategic intervention accelerates ecosystem recovery faster than natural processes left alone. Participants gain conservation skills and strengthen their connection with nature, while contributing to measurable outcomes, creating a scalable model that transforms both landscapes and communities.

The woodland keepers program empowers communities to become active participants in oak woodland restoration through a network of community-managed native plant nurseries. Each nursery site serves as both a growing space for restoration plants and a hub for environmental education and community engagement. Through a year-long commitment, participating groups receive comprehensive training in native plant propagation while growing the next generation of plants needed for oak woodland restoration. The program combines hands-on workshops, ongoing mentorship, and regular plant care activities to build both technical skills and lasting connections to local ecosystems.
