Mission

Stronghold Food Pantry reduces food insecurity in the military community by providing free groceries, basic essentials, and support services to active-duty military and their military-connected families through on-site distribution and national outreach programs.

Programs

3 programs

The Newborn and Toddler Support program provided formula, diapers, wipes, and other necessities to over 100 military families in 2024, with growth through direct sponsorships of this program in 2024 continuing in 2025. Additionally, Stronghold partnered with Happy Bottoms to provide diapers to 25 military families monthly throughout 2024. THE EXPENSE AND REVENUE (directed donation supporting the program) was recognized in December 2023 and again in January 2025, which resulted in no direct program costs in 2024. The 2025 taxes will reflect both 2024 and 2025 since the cost was incurred in January 2025.

School-aged Military Child Support programs saw continued growth in 2024, with Pack the Backpack providing backpacks filled with school supplies to 100 military kids and Hunger Buster Packs providing nutritious meals for over 500 food-insecure school-aged military dependents in the Fort Leavenworth area.
