Mission

To create sustainable education and employment opportunities for girls and women around the world.

Women's Employment: We create jobs for seamstresses from low-income and low-education backgrounds in our sustainable apparel factories located in the rural villages of Notse and Kpove. Our first sustainable factory opened in 2019 in Togo, Africa, and we've grown to employ 40 seamstresses full-time. Our paid-to-learn employment model ensures women receive tailored benefits that help them thrive in the workplace. These benefits include 10% of paid time devoted to adult education each week, unlimited sick leave, free childcare, 3-month paid maternity leave for all full-time employees, financial management training, full social security and retirement benefits, and salaries well above local living wages.

Sustainability: We design products that are better for girls, women, and the environment. One of our signature products is our school uniform that expands with girls as they grow. This dress is designed to grow six sizes and up to 12" in length, and it's designed to help girls stay in school confidently without fear of outgrowing their required school uniforms. It also replaces the need for 5 additional school uniforms, greatly reducing the environmental footprint of our dresses. In addition, we also recycle 100% of fabric scraps from apparel production into reusable products for girls and women. We not only recycle 100% of fabric from our own factories, but we also accept fabric from surrounding factories in West Africa and recycle it into reusable menstrual pads for girls. (Continued on Schedule O)Our recycling program has resulted in 10,000 reusable menstrual pads made from recycled fabric, 7,000 pounds of fabric diverted from the waste stream, and 40,475 school uniforms replaced by our uniforms that grow. In 2022, we introduced a new signature product made from 100% recycled single-use plastic bags. Our student backpacks are now made from recycled plastic bags that we remove from our local communities. In 2024, we recycled more than 250 pounds of single-use plastic into reusable product.
