Su Casa - Ending Domestic Violence

Su casa's walk-in resource center offers information regarding domestic violence and referrals to supportive services for those who are not in need of shelter. The center is located at su casa's headquarters in long beach and is open during regular business hours. Su casa also maintains a community outreach and education program that conducts presentations and workshops to create awareness of domestic violence and the organization's services and promotes prevention to strengthen community safety and stop abuse before it begins. In fiscal year 2023-2024, the walk-in resource center assisted approximately 150 individuals and community outreach, and education services included approximately 115 events reaching approximately 6,562 people.

Su casa's housing first program assists clients to locate and secure stable and affordable long-term housing through a collaborative process that determines housing needs and preferences, identifies housing options and assistance programs, works with landlords, and facilitates placement. In addition, the program offers financial assistance to help clients move into permanent housing including rent deposits, furnishings, relocation, utilities, and other housing-related expenses. In fiscal year 2023-2024, approximately 52 families residing at our emergency and transitional shelters received housing first services.

Su casa's transitional shelter is a 24 bed, 4-unit facility providing up to 24 months of continued housing and supportive services following emergency shelter residency to help clients maintain their safety and establish long-term self-sufficiency while achieving goals including education, employment, and permanent housing. In fiscal year 2023-2024, approximately 49 survivors (including 14 adults and 35 children) received 7,670 bed nights of housing and supportive services.
