Sustainable communities and network - sustainable communities and network is a learning group of programs and people who care about holistic sustainability (environmental health, equity and social wellbeing, and a just economy). Via community programs and the network, sustain dane shares skills and strategies, research findings, and local case studies. There are quarterly breakfast meetings, monthly newsletters, networking opportunities, membership, and online resources. Other work includes the community recycling program, climate action commitments, partnerships with schools on food waste reduction, and sustainability art. It also includes sustain dane's sustainability stories platform, which amplifies the voices of people from different backgrounds, races, genders, and geographies that are working on and want to inspire others to build a more sustainable and inclusive community.
Business outreach and projects - accelerate sustainability workshop (asw) is a one year, fully-customizable program for businesses and organizations that wish to reduce their environmental impact, while saving costs and creating a healthier and more engaging workplace and community. Asw builds on the success of sustain dane's mpower program. Business and organizations have completed more than 800 sustainability projects related to energy efficiency and clean energy, sustainable food systems, alternative transportation, equity, water or waste reduction, community engagement, and more.
Sustain dane summit - an annual conference that convenes sustainability activists who embrace holistic sustainability and community well-being, and desire to create positive change in the greater madison region. Approximately 250 individuals convened to listen, learn, and share with one another. The summit was deemed successful based upon metrics achieved and participant feedback.
