This proposal is to support Suwannee River Area Health Education Center as the fiscal sponsor for Floridians for Dental Access (FLDA), to advocate for the passage of dental therapy legislation in Florida. Additionally, the activities outlined in this proposal will support Florida in joining the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact. This compact creates reciprocity among participating states which reduces barriers to license portability, ultimately increasing workforce availability through decreased licensure restrictions.

$110K
The purpose of this grant is to support Floridians for Dental Access' efforts to authorize Direct Access for dental hygienists to practice at the top of their licensure and pass legislation to authorize dental therapy to increase access to oral health care for millions of residents throughout Florida.
