The improvement and development of the hawaii coffee, floriculture/nursery, macadamia nuts, and papaya industries through research and development, marketing and promotion, and education and cooperation on a non-partisan basis.

Using usda fas marketing access program (map) and regional agricultural promotion program (rapp) funding, shac funded marketing activities in taiwan, canada, and japan as well as the purchase of the 'ka'u coffee' trade name from its former owner. Activities included trade show activities, social media, market studies, reverse trade missions and the development of photographic and video media.
Using usda agriculture research service funding, shac is funding research to facilitate the diagnosis and remediation of coffee pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies and toxicities by producing an ai driven app.
