Mission
Tapestry farms is a nonprofit urban farm system that invests in refugees who live in the quad cities. We do this through social services, farming, and welcoming infrastructure.
Programs
2 programs
Farm - tapestry farms grows food at approximately a dozen sites throughout the quad cities reclaiming underutilized land to produce vegetables, fruit, and herbs seasonally and year-round in a hydroponics container. We engage approximately 300 volunteers and hire refugees from countries including the democratic republic of congo, syria, and sudan as part of our farm operations. In 2024, we grew approximately 11,000 pounds of produce distributed in a variety of ways - food pantries, farmer's market stand, fellow nonprofits, and monthly subscriptions.
Legal services - tapestry farms offers clients free or low-cost immigration legal services including completing paperwork for adjustment of status, work authorization renewals, and naturalization. We support clients as they attend the appointments needed to complete the process.
