Team Kids sparks innovation and collaboration by uniting every community stakeholdergovernment, public safety, education, and businessonto one team to invest in their youngest citizens.Team Kids is a national nonprofit organization and youth empowerment movement dedicated to equipping children with the tools to become compassionate, capable leaders and agents of positive change in their communities. Founded in 2001, Team Kids delivers evidence-based, school-based programsat no cost to participating schoolsthat foster leadership, teamwork, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and civic engagement among K8 students.In collaboration with educators, first responders, business leaders, and families, Team Kids provides children with meaningful roles in their schools and communities. Team Kids Unite (TKU) Alumni & Community Engagement ProgramTeam Kids Unite extends the impact of the Team Kids Challenge by supporting youth engagement beyond the school setting. TKU encourages students and alumni to remain active in community service and leadership through volunteer projects, mentorship opportunities, and youth-led campaigns. The program provides structured pathways for continued civic participation, helping students build lasting habits of service and leadership into adolescence and beyond.Through TKU, students:- Engage in school- or district-wide campaigns supporting local nonprofits, deployed troops, and first responders- Participate in initiatives like Letters From Home and Driven to Make a Difference (DTMD) service days- Volunteer at Team Kids carnivals and local community events- Join with business and public safety mentors in hands-on leadership experiencesTeam Kids Unite reinforces positive youth development outcomes, including increased empathy, belonging, and prosocial behaviors. In FY 202324, TKU contributed to sustained community connections and elevated youth voice in civic spaces.
