TBMC serves its members and the I.T. profession by defining a data-driven framework for decision-making that creates and sustains business value. The council is working to establish and promote TBM standards and practices in the I.T. industry that will help measure, manage, and communicate the budget, cost, consumption, and value of I.T. The TBMC framework is comprised of standards created with input from the council's members, partners, and technical advisors. The framework provides a means by which I.T. leaders can assess whether their own organizations have adopted the standardized disciplines and capabilities. I.T. leaders can benchmark their own organizations against the framework, as their industry peers.
