Stewardship - Once a conservation easement is placed on the land, Tecumseh Land Pres Assoc must ensure all requirements of the easement are being complied with into perpertuity. Properties and landowners are visited annually for this purpose. In 2024, all properties were visited at least once. Stewardship also includes legal defense of the conservation easement, if necessary. The stewardship revenue comes from donations to the dedicated stewardship fund.
A focus of the Tecumseh Land Preservation Association is educating landowners of their options for protecting, preserving and increasing conservation values of their lands. We accomplish this through mailing information about programs. We also host activities to present the benefits of conservation easements and conservation practices on their land.
