Mission
The temescal telegraph business improvement district creates, promotes and nurtures an engaging destination for bay area residents, workers, and visitors to experience temescal. (see schedule o for full statement)
Programs

Marketing & events: coordinate annual events, including taste of telegraph to support retail and food service businesses and the annual street fair, featured expanded outdoor dining at restaurants, outdoor retail, drawing 10,000+ visitors to the district. Developed targeted marketing campaigns to support specific sectors of commerce and small businesses, including the nationally recognized restaurants, award winning bars, independent retailers, and services (hair, skin, nails, etc.) and fitness providers throughout the district. Conducted social media promotions as part of these digital marketing campaigns. Facilitated and supported the summer farmers' market. (continues on schedule o)
Design & economic development: supported new and existing businesses through the city's permitting processes. Maintained and updated inventory of temescal commercial vacancies. Connected potential tenants with commercial brokers and property owners of vacant commercial space in temescal. Provided semi-monthly updates on city construction projects, and policy updates via newsletter and monthly committee meetings. Invited businesses and organizations interested in opening in or expanding to temescal to present to the committee and interested community members. Maintained new pedestrian lights to improve nighttime safety and visibility. Worked with the city to abate a long time drug dealing hot spot.
