Tennessee Farm Bureau-Dyer County

Agriculture leadership activities the dyer county farm bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.

Youth leadership development dyer county farm bureau sponsors a large group of young agriculturalists called the dyer county young farmers and ranchers. This group of young farmers are being molded to have leadership roles in agriculture. The young farmers and ranchers also help out with ffa and 4-h events with volunteer hours. The dyer county farm bureau also sponsors a agriculture day where about 300 fifth grade students visit a farm and learn the importance of agriculture and where their food and fiber comes from.
