Ballet Folklorico Teotl had a great 2024 year full of events. We started the year off by preparing and participating in a Dance competition in San Antonio Texas. Where we took 30 students to participate. This experience is a great way to learn discipline, teamwork, commitment among other things. It was a successful trip where we won two first place, three second place and two third place. We are incredibly proud of all the students.
Charreria program is a Mexican equestrian program, where the girls do a routine on side saddle and the boys participate in a variety of challenges known as lucks (suertes). We had a great year. We participated in the St. Patricks Day parade in downtown Atlanta. We hosted our first annual fundraiser in May to help raise funds for the costumes and other program costs. Thank you to the donations we were able to lower the cost of the girls teams costumes. The girls teams participated in their state competition where they placed second and third place. The boys team competed in the juvenile competition and one of the participants won first place in bull riding. In addition, in the summer the elementary aged team was created and began their practices. Charreria also participated in several schools where they showed off their roping skills and promoted Mexican culture during Hispanic heritage month.
