Family literacy is a program that supports the whole family. Teton literacy center encourages parents in their role as their child's primary teacher and educational advocate. Family literacy opportunities include; parent education, child education, parent time, and parent and child together time. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's education, learn strategies to increase their child's acdemic success, and to increase their own personal literacy goals. 35 families benefited from family literacy programs during fiscal year 2023-2024.
After-school tutoring is offered free to families, due to the volunteers that donate their time. Through literacy tutoring, students gain confidence and develop reading fluency, along with building skills in comprehension, word decoding, and writing. Tutoring sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis to focus on personalized literacy needs. Tutoring also includes volunteer management. 110 students were tutored during fiscal year 2023-2024. Volunteers provided 1,438 hours of tutoring support to students.
